Dr. Shahin Nouri, MD


A Neurologist based inNew York City, Shahin was the Director of the Epilepsy Center at the New York Presbyterian - Brooklyn Methodist Hospital. In addition to his significant work caring for thousands of Epilepsy patients and receiving several professional awards for his work in moving his field of expertise forward, he has always been a loving, caring, and dedicated son, friend, community member, and colleague.


Shahin was born to a supportive and loving Kurdish family in Tehran Iran. His bubbly and fun personality has always found the best adventures. Whether it be with his patients, friends, or family, he has been deeply generous and caring to everyone in his life.


In 2020, Shahin was diagnosed with two aggressive types of blood cancer- Lymphoma. Since then, he went through various treatments, including chemotherapy with limited results. Even during these challenging times, Shahin made the issue of Stem Cell donation for people of ethnic background a global contention.


On January 29, 2022, Shahin left our world. Although the world seems a lesser place without him, we all feel inspired and privileged for knowing him and having him in our lives.

In the Persian Language, Shahin's name means 'falcon'. True to his name, Shahin's energy, foresight, ambition, courage, willpower, freedom, and vision have made him a bright life force. All his life, he has been an inspiration to many, and today we are inspired to fight for him to spread his wings and continue being a bright light. Please join us.
